My Story

Hi, I'm Kirsten, a Mum in her fifties who has struggled with her weight since leaving school.  Through a combination of a sedentary lifestyle and emotional eating I have yo-yo 'dieted' for all my adult life, with my heaviest weight being 18 stone.....until I finally discovered what works!

1990 - 2002

Slowly went from a UK dress size 12 to a UK dress size 22 through eating junk food and living a sedentary lifestyle

2002

Joined my first slimming club

2002 – 2004

Lost 4 stone (56lb/25.4kg)

2005

Gained 6 stone during pregnancy and hit my highest weight of 18 stone (252lb/114.3kg)

2006 – 2008

Rejoined my original slimming club and lost 5 stone (70lb/31.7kg)

Started yo-yoing so tried other slimming clubs and diet plans, numerous times

2008 – 2009

Comfort ate my way up to 17 stone (238lb/107.9kg)

2009

Joined a leisure centre but focused on classes (mostly dance based) as I felt too fat to go in the gym

2009 – 2017

Continued to yo-yo, repeatedly losing and gaining the same 2 stone (28lb/12.7kg)

2017

Still 2 stone above where I wanted to be, I finally found the courage to speak to a Personal Trainer at my leisure centre, got myself in the gym and discovered my love for resistance training! Strong not skinny became my motto!

2018

Signed up for a Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training with the vision of helping other people like me. I learned about calories and nutrition and by putting this new found education into place I went on to finally achieve my personal weightloss and fitness goals.
